The Process and the Theme

An Insightrainer Creatrainer is modular set of creative skills workshops for non formal educators in youth work that leads to a product jam - where new educational tools are designed.

In other words, it is a long term learning process, where participants attend to a series of workshops (sometimes they participate only to one workshop and sometimes more) and finally at the end of the process, all the participants who attend to the workshops have the right to apply and join the Product Jam at the end; where the learnt creative skills are put in practice through designing educational materials.

The depth of the Insightrainer Creatrainer comes with the theme. So each cycle has a theme that reflects in the programme of the creative workshops and as well define the common objective for the educational materials to be designed at the Product Jam.

An example cycle:

During 2016-2018, the team run a 4 step Insightrainer Cretrainer cycle for the Turkish National Agency. The three selected creative workshops were on creative writing, use of visuals and comics and finally games and play. The theme identified for the cycles was 'refuge, flight and migration and their effects on youth in Europe'. The number of young refugees in Turkey is increasing since 2012 drastically. And although many youth organisations and civil society initiatives are joining efforts for social inclusion; the need for educational tools in working with and for young refugees stay the same. And the Insightrainer Creatrainer cycle is designed to meet this need within Turkey, and hopefully beyond.
